It's Almost Here!

In July of last year, Stevie and I began a crazy journey to start a literary magazine. Together, with some wonderfully talented authors and artists, we are about to see all of that hard work pay off with the release of our first issue of the Hungry Chimera, this Wednesday! It’s hard to believe it’s almost here (and that it’s actually happening).

It has been a real treat having these stories, poems and art pieces, all to myself (with the exception of Stevie). I’ve grown very attached to them and am thrilled to share them with the world, and I'm sure the artists and authors feel likewise. We hope that all of you will support us, as well as our authors and artists, by visiting our website this Wednesday, March 1st, to check the issue out. It will be available for free digitally, and available in print for a fee if you so desire a hard copy, as we do!

This journey has been difficult, riddled with MANY learning opportunities and moments for personal growth. Yet, there have been plenty of wonderful times as well, making it all worthwhile. As you might have heard, it's not all about the destination. The journey can be just as important.

Fantasy author, Ursula K Le Guin, once said, “It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end.” If someone had approached Stevie and I, offering to do literally everything and handing us the finished product in the end, would we have done it? I should hope not! There is so much to learn and to experience and to grow from, that we wouldn't trade it for anything. We've come to love writing blogs and doing silly podcasts for you guys, and we hope you have enjoyed them as well. Beyond that, we've loved working with some superbly accomplished people, and look forward to doing so again.

Just as this first little voyage comes to a peak this Wednesday, we want to thank all of those who have journeyed with us. We wouldn't be where we are without you. We invite you to embark on our next adventure with us as we look towards our second issue, in the not too distant future. We have learned much in the creation of our first issue, and look forward to learning much more.

So, here's to learning, and here's to many more adventures to come. We love you guys!
